Pros and cons of Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies app for iPhone and iPad

Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies app good for

One of the best strategy games on the App Store, even though its kind of old.
I have only completed 2 missions so far and I am thoroughly enjoying the game. One complaint til now is I dont like the placement of the spinning plane in the plane customization window, it covers the plane attributes box. Labels over enemy are gone, makes the screen a little less cluttered but I miss the altitude number. Ok gotta get back in the skies. May add another review further along in the game.
Another great game. Pretty much identical to the previous game except now in a WWII setting. Nice to see the permadeath and male only pilots options.
Gameplay is more intricate than original. Graphics are better as far as the environment is concerned but the planes themselves are not as crisp as the original. I miss the ace packages as well as they are a really cool feature of the original. Thanks Sid.
still no real story and some movement commands are difficult to select because theyre too close together (on iPad mini)
The tempo of the game is a lot better than the original one. The AI is very good too. I would recommend this game to anyone who love the air battles in the pacific.

Some bad moments

Save does not work, do not buy. Sauvegarde ne fonctionne pas. Nul.
Poor sequel to the original. Turn and bank as I may, I cant draw a bead on the enemys tail or anywhere else for that matter. The one chance I can track down the enemy, its almost always a one shot kill?! Played the original in a day (very happy) bought the sequel the next day. Do not recommend.
Great follow up to Ace Patrol. Very much looking forward to see where the series goes.
Seriously. Do I even need to explain why this is an issue for a game on a phone?
Americas destroyers guns arent on the destroyer, but in the water. The ships should be able too move. Their should be more planes per battle. There should be ships and bases for both sides per battle, battleships and carriers should be able to have anti air fire, cruisers should be added, and you should be able to control bombers and recon planes during battles. Also, you can be right behind the enemy, but you cant fire. The battle replays shouldnt end right before the plane crashes.
Played for few hours and always remembered to click on save to save the progress. However, today when tried to load my saved progress, it rolls back to the first mission. Totally waste time.
