Sid Meier’s Ace Patrol: Pacific Skies App Reviews

Its a great game. I really enjoy the full control of both direction and altitude. So far all the features work perfectly. (Including the save function which apparently others havent figured out,)

Love the previous game. Great graphics. Game play is choppy at times. Cumulative damage on my planes from mission to mission?!? I guess the airplane mechanics are on strike. Enjoyed choosing mission type in previous game, would like to see that here too. Using ace maneuver high Yo-Yo is not applying the second parts damage. Ex: I preview high yo yo and says 20% followed by 100% damage, the other plane is still flying after attack! Does this regularly every time. Please fix!

This is not a bad game, its just that every time I get really far, it deletes my progress! WHAT THE HECK! Please fix this and it will be perfect!

Great concept, terrible execution. One or two failed missions and youll find yourself with no pilots for several missions because theyre "injured" or need "repair"--basically they want you to pay again, every time, to play like this is a pin ball machine. On top of it its repetitive and the graphics and avatars horrendous.

Give me a refund, this is rubbish. Dont buy. Playing on ipad mini.

I wanted to like this game, but there are several changes from the first game that I don’t really care for: 1) Planes accumulate damage and don’t get repaired until the next campaign. 2) Avatars have silly/annoying expressions… only the Americans. 3) Glitchy effects and crash animations. 4) No “Leading Aces” stat board. 5) Annoying start up video. I have to watch an ad for a game I bought? Why? 6) Fewer countries to choose from. 7) You get multiple victory stats for shooting down a plane with multiple people inside. It should be 1 plane = 1 victory. 8) No mission selection. 9) G-Force and altitude restrictions make combat less fun and more tedious. 10) Enemy is either too easy or too hard. There are some things I liked about it though: 1) More missions per game. 2) Plane customization. 3) Injured pilots don’t stay out of action for long. 4) Multiple save slots. Those points made, this could have been an amazing game, but it doesnt seem to me they put as much effort into Pacific Skies as they did or the first one. Maybe they’ll get it right in a future update?

I played this now a number of different times of the course of a few months hoping to like it, but it just fails to live up to the first one. The enemies are either push overs or impossible to play. Specifically the Japanese planes in the beginning are like paper airplanes, but by the third mission they are performing moves that simply defy gravity, its ridiculous. That being said it is worth the 2 bucks, but play the first one out before you commit to this one.

Sid and 2K decided it was ok to add ads in a game which I paid for. Why? Why does Apple allow this? Never pay more than $1 for an app. You dont own it. At any moment, they might ruin it.

Ive couldnt remember why I didnt stick with this when it first came out. I tried it again and now I remember. All the progress I made yesterday was gone this am when I tried to play again. Cool game but I dont like starting from scratch each time..

This game is not compatible with the iPhone 6 Plus.

Limited replayability and way too many annoying ads for an app I payed for.

The game deserves a 4/5 but the devs added frequent and obnoxious ads despite and in addition to charging for the app. Feels exploitative, and the ads are pretty annoying.

This game started off frustrating until making it to the point where you get a new plane. It helps to mix the fast planes with the ones that can maneuver better in order to control the battle easier. If planes get damaged the pilots can swap roles and maintain a stronger strength through the four level stages between repairs.

Cant download on all devices or Web/Internet

Single player is fun, challenging and glitch free. Unfortunately, multiplayer game freezes and crashes a lot. More updates would be nice as well.
